Lawyers for Children Say: No to ICE raids, Genocide & War

HCR invites you to stand with us against war & genocide, ICE raids, and to advocate for justice for all working people and families because:

We can’t protect children with disabilities when their community is under attack.

May Day is this Friday. Historically, this date was chosen to honor the 1886 Haymarket Riot in Chicago: a worker uprising in response to attacks on peaceful protestors who were advocating for a 8 hour work day.

We, at Hirji, Chau & Rodriguez, exist to defend and advance the rights of children and people with disabilities. We cannot do this work in isolation. When families and communities that our clients belong to are under attack by punitive and criminalizing immigration policies, erosion of workers rights, and defunding of social services (including education), they directly harm children and vulnerable people. We must challenge all threats to families and communities who are and care for children with disabilities.

Los Angeles has a long tradition of May Day protest – by immigrant communities, unions and organizations who fight for social and economic justice. Each year we at the Law Offices of Hirji, Chau & Rodriguez celebrate May Day by partaking in this tradition and standing in solidarity with our community. On Friday we plan on attending a large protest Friday morning at Macarthur Park to stand with Angelenos against war & genocide, ICE raids, and to advocate for justice for all working people and families. We’d love to see you there. Details are below.

The plan is to meet at Macarthur Park between 10 and 10:30. We will then march and get lunch after. We are not sure exactly where the march will end, but we believe it will end close to City Hall around noon. Please bring homemade signs if you are inclined to or stand behind our banner that will say: Schools Not Bombs! Abolish ICE!
