Meet Travis

Travis Wester was introduced to the special education system when a family member was diagnosed with high-functioning autism. It became clear him that, while his family was grateful for the assistance offered by the District, the process for Individualized Education Plans does not lend itself to self-advocacy.

It is filled with technical jargon, layers of bureaucracy, and an intricate latticework of various legislative enactments that a busy parent can’t possibly be expected to keep on top of as they both earn a living and care for a child with special needs.

Personal Experience

With this personal experience in his background, Travis jumped at the chance to assist other families when he was offered the position of file clerk at the Law Offices of Hirji & Chau.  After having served in that role, Travis is now a legal assistant with the firm, concurrently working towards his degree in paralegal studies.

Upon his graduation in the spring of 2020, Travis will be a fully certificated paralegal with the American Bar Association.
