Legal Assistant

Jonathan Melena’s passion is to improve and support the community. He has an extensive background in working with non-profit organizations that focus on helping those who are underrepresented. His experience includes educational to legal volunteering, with children and adults of underserved communities.

Since 2014, Jonathan has worked with the Association of Professionals and Students, tutoring underprivileged students from K-12, and mentoring older youth in their transition to higher education. He has worked alongside Long Beach BLAST, in mentoring “at-risk youth” with their educational career.

Jonathan volunteers at Community Lawyers, Inc., providing support to family law and immigration legal clinics. He has also worked with Centro CHA, a non-profit that provides free legal services to lower-income residents.

Jonathan is one of our multilingual staff that provides translation support in Spanish and American Sign Language.
