Hirji, Chau & Rodriguez, LLP is law firm based in Culver City that focuses on educational, civil and disability rights of children and students. Our practice encompasses all levels of advocacy and litigation, and is staffed by reputable attorneys who work collaboratively to provide holistic services.

We are looking for a dynamic individual with experience in special education, civil rights and/or personal injury litigation for a full-time associate attorney position. 

Responsibilities

  • All aspects of special education advocacy and litigation, including intake, case evaluation, IEP meeting attendance, mediation, and due process hearings
  • Represent clients in civil litigation before state and federal courts, including law and motion, discovery, mediation, and trial

Requirements

  • Admittance to the State Bar of California
  • 1-4 years’ experience with disability rights, civil rights, special education and/or personal injury litigation
  • Excellent research and writing skills, with a strong academic background
  • Strong interpersonal communication and client counsel skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work positively and cooperatively with other team members
  • Proficient understanding of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act, Americans with Disabilities Act, Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, and Government Torts/Public Entity liability is preferred
  • Spanish speaking a plus

Salary & Benefits

  • $85,000 – $130,000, depending on experience
